This All Sucks! Why Even Try?

This All Sucks! Why Even Try?

Treat life as a game. Find joy in competing.

I know it’s tough right now. Life’s been throwing punches, and some of you feel like you’re down for the count. But listen up—this is not the time to stay on the mat. This is the time to stand back up.

We’re not just talking about goals here. We’re talking about changing the world. The fire inside each of you is real. You’ve got dreams that matter. You’ve got the vision, the heart, and the brains to make a difference. But here’s the truth: sitting in the locker room won’t get us to the end zone. It’s time to get in the game.

Depression, sadness, those are tough opponents. They’ll make you think you’re not good enough. They’ll make you believe you don’t have the energy to fight. But let me tell you something: you are stronger than those thoughts. Every time you get up in the morning, every time you take a step forward, no matter how small—it’s a victory. And every victory adds up.

Here’s the game plan:

  1. Break it down – Just like in football, no one wins the whole game in one play. Start small. One step. One pass. One push. You don’t need to change the whole world by the end of the day, but you can take one action. One step that gets you closer to those goals. Write one paragraph. Make one call. Have one conversation.

  2. Show up – I’m not asking for perfect. I’m asking for you to show up, even when it’s hard. Especially when it’s hard. Commit to the grind. We practice, we fall, we get back up. Because that’s how champions are made.

  3. You’re not alone – We’re a team. You don’t have to do this alone. Lean on your people. Your friends, your family, your mentors—hell, lean on me if you have to. That’s what teams do. We lift each other up when we fall.

  4. Remember your WHY – Why did you dream of changing the world? Why do you care so much? Keep that why in your heart and your mind every single day. That’s your fuel. When the sadness feels too heavy, remind yourself of why you started in the first place.

Now, I’m not saying it’s going to be easy. It won’t be. But easy doesn’t change the world. If you’re going to do something big, if you’re going to create real change, you’re going to have to fight for it.

The world needs you. Your goals are bigger than you, bigger than any obstacle in your way. And I believe in you. I believe in every single one of you. You’ve got what it takes to turn this around.

So, what’s it gonna be? Are we going to stay down? Or are we going to rise up, lock arms, and move forward?

Let’s get to work. One step at a time. Let’s win this game of life together!
